Allison Glenn has recently been appointed as Associate Curator of Contemporary Art at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AK and will join the Museum later this month. She was previously Manager of Publications and Curatorial Associate for the fourth iteration of Prospect New Orleans Triennial, titled, "The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp" which runs through February 25th. The city-wide Triennial, reflecting of the 300th Anniversary of the founding of New Orleans, features national and international artists, with an emphasis on artists working in the Global South.
Glenn also previously served as Director of the Monique Meloche Gallery in Chicago. In 2015 she curated "Look At Me Now!" featuring several contemporary artists, including Rashid Johnson, Ebony Patterson, Nina Chanel Abney, and more, who challenge the conventional perspectives of portraiture through the gaze.
In 2015, she was Curatorial Fellow with the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. She has contributed her writing to a number of publications and exhibition catalogues, including Prospect 4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp, Prospect 3: Notes for Now, Noah Purifoy: Junk Dada, and Derrick Adams: ON.
